Seattle PI: Ordinary Seattleites doing extraordinary things to combat COVID-19 effects

Local crafters fighting COVID-19...

When costume maker Candace Frank saw an upcoming show postponed by mandatory coronavirus closures, she repurposed her remaining fabrics and time to produce face masks to cover the nose and mouth amidst the global shortage of personal protective equipment in wake of the novel coronavirus. Soon after, the crafter created an official Facebook page by the name of “Crafters Against COVID-19 Seattle” to expand the effort. Less than 24 hours later, hundreds of locals signed up to help sew fabric masks in their own homes. As of late, the page has more than 2,300 followers and fellow crafters.
